About Me

I have my life together and I am a complete mess at the same time. I love people and wholeheartedly believe in the beauty of helping others. Keep reading to learn about causes and organizations that I support.

My first job after graduate school was at the St. Louis Arc, a nonprofit that empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to lead better lives. Though I no longer live in St. Louis, I remain active with the organization. You can learn more about the St. Louis Arc here.

In 2016, I donated bone marrow to an unknown person and I hope for the chance to meet him in 2017. I signed up for the Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry through an organization called Delete Blood Cancer. DKMS was a huge support to me through the donation process. Every person I worked with was professional, caring, and timely in their responses to my questions and concerns. I encourage every eligible person to join the Bone Marrow Registry. You could save someone’s life.

After donating bone marrow, I joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training Program. Through TNT, I fundraised for LLS and trained with others in my area to run the 2016 Rock N Roll Half Marathon in Las Vegas. Team in Training introduced me to people who pushed me to be mentally and physically stronger. I now call many of them my friends. We continue to train with and support each other, while working to end blood cancers and disorders. If you are looking to train for a race, a hike, cycling, or a tri, I highly recommend looking into Team in Training.
